3.Product Feature And Application

Cuprous thiocyanate White or grayish white powder, relative density 2.846, melting point 1084 ℃, almost insoluble in water, insoluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, ethanol and acetone, soluble in ammonia and ether, easily soluble in concentrated alkali metal thiocyanate solution, can form a conjugate, and decompose when dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid. It can ignite when heated to above 140 ℃ in air. Dry cuprous thiocyanate can absorb ammonia when cold to form an adduct of ammonia cuprous thiocyanate (2 CuSCN • 5nh3), and ammonia is released after heating. Cuprous Thiocyanate’s molecular weight is 121.62. and CAS number is 1111-67-7.
